A Response to “The Impact of Sugar on Autism”
This blog is in response to questions about a previous blog post of ours entitled: “The Impact of Sugar on Autism Part II: Healthy Substitutes”. High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) is a neurotoxin. I am sure this caught your attention. In a case report by Abe et al (2008) they discovered infantile botulism caused by ingestion of corn syrup.
The Ionization of Water: A Follow Up Response
This is a special blog written to an inquiry and comment by a reader named ‘Getting my BCaBA’ in response to my blog “The Ionization of Water”. I understand your state of mind and tone of ‘voice’ but as you know this is a blog and not an educational paper. I agree this is no excuse. I will absolutely address your concerns:
The Organic Acid Test
A very common treatment for Autism is diet modification and mineral supplement. However, before such changes are made, it must be determined what state the body is actually in. While many tests can detect different bodily conditions, the Organic Acid Test (OAT) is becoming increasingly more common. Why choose to get the Organic Acid Test when testing for Autistic Body conditions?
The Organic Acid Test analyzes wastes and discharges that the body releases through the urine. The newest form of the Organic Acid Test can detect up to 70 compounds. The test can detect many known toxic compounds that can wreak havoc on the body. These toxic materials can often not be detected with one simple test; it takes a numerous amount of tests to do so, if they are able to be detected at all.
The main factor that the new and improved Organic Acid Test can detect is the existence of intestinal yeast and bacterial growth. Having an overgrowth of yeast in the intestines is very common in people with Autism. It is characterized by chronic fatigue, low immunity, and poor digestion. A number of gastro-intestinal problems arise from having an over growth of yeast. One of the most common types of yeast that is overlooked in some tests is Clostridia, and the Organic Acid Test accurately detects this.
Detecting the presence of an abundance of intestinal yeast with an Organic Acid Test can put you on the right track to obtaining yeast treatments for this overgrowth if it exists. The detection of yeast is essential in treating not only gastrointestinal issues, but also neurological and behavioral issues.
Some of the newest compounds or “markers” that can be detected via the Organic Acid Test are:
Inorganic Phosphate which is the indicator for Vitamin D Deficiency and Bone Function
Quinolinic Acid which is the indicator…
The Bad Genes Effect On Autism
Although advances are being made everyday in discovering the cause of Autism, there still is no definitive answer. It’s universally believed that Autism is a combination disorder that can be attributed partly to genetics and party to the environment. More and more evidence is being found that genetics truly does play a larger part than we have been lead to believe.

New Study Confirms Risk Of Autism Higher In Siblings Of Those With ASD
Studies focused on the siblings of children who have Autism aren’t new. In fact, there have been dozens of studies, most of them smaller scaled on the brothers and sisters of children who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. These studies are done in hopes to get headway on finding the true cause of Autism, and thereby hopefully finding preventative tools as well.
